Michael is a Financial Advisor and Wealth Management Counsel at Capital Planning Advisors. In addition, he is an attorney with a business, tax, estate planning, charitable giving and real estate background and has approximately 25 years of managing complex wealth strategies on behalf of closely-held and family-owned companies and high-net-worth individuals. 

A licensed CPA® (inactive), he previously served as an accountant at Deloitte & Touche, LLP. As a former Associate Attorney with McDonough, Holland & Allen and founding Partner of HMS Law Group, LLP, Michael advised clients on real estate transactions, probate/estate planning, business & tax matters and served as contract general counsel to small- and medium-sized businesses.

As General Counsel for a $700M real estate investment and management company, he raised capital for, and structured and managed private real estate funds focused on acquiring and managing multifamily, commercial, office and hotel properties. He has worked in and with several start-up operations as a Fund Manager and has also been engaged as a consultant on several business and real estate ventures in the past.

Michael earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business (Accounting) from Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo and his Juris Doctorate degree from the McGeorge School of Law (University of the Pacific), with a Tax Concentration. Michael holds the Series 65 (Fiduciary Investment Advisor) and Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law Exam) securities licenses and is also a licensed Life, Accident and Health insurance agent. 

Outside of the office, Michael is a devoted husband and father to three beloved children. He and his family have been very involved in serving alongside various non-profits with a primary focus on helping the youth and underprivileged in need of a hand up, rather than a handout. He is a Board Member of Eternal Christendom, Trustee of Lead Like Jesus, Board Member of William Jessup University Foundation and has previously served on the Boards of 3Strands Global and SafeHaven Ministries of Sacramento. Michael also enjoys spending time outdoors, is very active and loves traveling with his family.
