Jim has specialized as an advisor to wealthy individuals, families, and business owners in Sacramento and the Bay Area for over 32 years.

Prior to his role as Managing Director and CEO of Capital Planning Advisors, Jim served as Director of Private Banking and Senior Vice President at Mechanics Bank for 13 years. He designed, originated, and managed the Private Banking group for that institution. Jim used his strategic planning, collaboration, team building, and leadership skills to successfully grow and develop relationships with clients and manage his team.

Founder and owner of Wilson Management for 17 years, Jim provided business management for high net worth individuals and professional athletes. He focused on planning and financial security for these individuals with an emphasis on investment management and advising on real estate and private equity opportunities. He assisted in estate and tax planning for professional athletes, as well as, acting as a liaison between the athlete and the business community.

Jim also worked as Vice President of Private Banking at Bank of America in Walnut Creek and Oakland for over a decade.

Jim has raised capital and consulted for many real estate and alternative investments over the last 25 years. He has also had the privilege to serve on both advisory and charitable boards.

Jim graduated from Saint Mary’s College in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.

Driven by a work hard, play hard attitude, Jim enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and friends. As an avid sports fan, he actively enjoys golf and snow skiing.
