
Jason is Chief Investment Officer and a Partner at Capital Planning Advisors. In this role, he is responsible for directing the investment policy of the firm and its clients as well as managing the investment and research team. He brings both a boutique and institutional perspective from his two decades of experience working with high-net-worth families and nonprofit organizations.
Prior to joining the team, Jason was a Senior Vice President and Senior Investment Strategist for Wells Fargo Private Bank, where he focused on constructing and managing customized, risk-balanced portfolios for a select group of clients. He contributed to the bank’s national research efforts for seven years as a member of the Global Strategies equity research team and previously lead the firm’s Domestic Equity Sector Strategy team.
He is a Co-Founder and Editor of the Sacramento Business Review and over the past decade has helped lead a 17-member volunteer team of researchers, analysts and authors to create and disseminate the Sacramento region’s most sophisticated, recognized and comprehensive economic analysis available.
Jason is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance from the University of California at Davis, where he was inducted to the Beta Gamma Sigma academic honor society. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of the Pacific.
Outside of his professional life, Jason enjoys spending time with his family as well as skiing and scuba diving. Currently, Jason serves on the board of the James B. McClatchy Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing English learning and 1st Amendment rights.
